What does Litmus scan for?
Litmus tests your pages against WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria using axe-core, the same accessibility engine used by Microsoft, Google, and the US government. It catches issues like missing alt text, insufficient color contrast, unlabeled form fields, missing ARIA landmarks, and more.
Is automated scanning enough for ADA compliance?
Automated scanning identifies a significant portion of accessibility issues, but full WCAG conformance also requires manual expert review and testing with assistive technologies. Litmus gives you the data to prioritize fixes — it does not constitute legal advice or certification.
Why not use an overlay widget instead?
Overlay widgets sit on top of your site and attempt to fix issues at runtime.
